Months ago, journalists of all ilk were reporting the Wilpons are in dire financial straits due to losing upwards of $600M in the Madoff scheme.
Now, the reports are coming in that they actually made money to the tune of almost $50M!
Throughout the whole saga, the Wilpons have remained quiet, basically saying any transactions don't affect the Mets.
Now people are calling for the money to be returned. Have they seen my team? We need the capital folks! We're looking at signing some top free agents! Gotta have priorities!
