Actual in my neck of the woods was 6"-8", so work today.
Kids have off though, would be nice if adults (at least the responsible ones with jobs) got snow days like them.
The snow-thrower was fandy-tastic this morning too.
Back to the grind.

Snow Again
Another mother of a storm is heading NJ-way. Predictions of 12"-18" are being bandied about.
SoulSlam is ready.
Facial hair is removed. Hair is getting long. Nine weeks is coming up.

The Proverbial A$$-Kickings

Hope the blog police don't get mad at me for the title.
Travel hoops this weekend. Let's start with the 4th grade team.
Went to a faraway (well 25 miles) town yesterday to play a game in a tiny gym. Played really well, great D, came within 3 points with 2 minutes to go. Couldn't seal the deal. Lost 24-19.
Then today comes and my team couldn't do a thing. We lost 26-6 (I can't look at scorebook so I'm hypothesizing here) - but it wasn't that close. We couldn't handle the ball, couldn't pass, played slow D, and generally looked really terrible. I guess it could have been worse since this team we played has lit up everybody. And we get to play them again next Friday. Can't wait. Gonna have to change a couple of things this Thursday at practice.
Now the 7th grade team. So we have a team of 7th graders, not the tall ones either. OK. The league we play in can be 7th or 8th or combined, and we played the biggest town in the area's 8th grade team. Guess what? They were really TALL. And thick. So we looked like David vs. Goliath, only this time the slingshot wasn't working. Got crushed. Lost 46-17. They probably could have scored 100 if they really wanted to.
Basketball. Rough weekend.

Snow Cancels Life
So we have another snow event here, but the word is it's only a few inches (3"-5") so we won't have to deal with the apocalypse we had last week.
But...
Kids went to school, got sent home
Basketball game is cancelled tonight (but we might practice)
First baseball practice of season got postponed
In the good news department, I got the Ariens up and running again last night. Belt was a little tough to find, but find it I did. Gonna tear around the driveway later!
Hair is a little wild today. And I started a goatee. I will be the envy of all.

The Follicle Chronicles
Since I've decided not to listen to the man anymore, I am growing out my 'do.
Eight weeks. Eight. I look like a really big chia pet right about now. It's pretty windy out today, so it's a shag.
I'll keep you posted.

I'm looking for a nice hairpick.

Two Days Down
Well, 2011 is in full swing now. We're about 0.5% of the way through, give or take.
How about a resolution? I haven't cut my hair since the week before Thanksgiving. That makes me a couple away from 8 weeks. Longest I've gone w/o a haircut in the last 15 years or so is 4 weeks. My head looks unruly. I should grow a mustache as well. Let me ponder that.
Now that the holidays are behind us (well except for MLK Day!), we start playing a lot of hoops in earnest. And the travel baseball program starts winter workouts indoors this Friday. Busy time begins again.
