Subtitles Abound

Watched the recently released movie Sugar - about a young Dominican pitcher coming to the US and playing in Single A ball.
Recommended, unless you're a baseball fan, then it's highly recommended.

Speaking of baseball - we held 9U tryouts yesterday. Even with a big roster we are going to have to cut some boys. Tough, but hopefully they keep playing and come out again next year.

Photo Finish

I was DFL.
It takes just as much effort as being 1st.

I rock.

DFL (Well Almost)

My town had a 5K this morning, and Mrs. SoulSlam (who's a runner) signed us all up as a family. For the record, SoulSlam is not a runner. But they had the walking bit so I manned up and did the 3.125 miles. Kids too. Oldest ran most and finished in just under 30. The other guy is bummed that the curse was broken, but he ran and walked his way to the finish.

My Bro-In-Law and me walked it out, the whole way. Apparently some of the walkers did a shorter 2 mile route, but not us. We thought we were DFL but apparently others were wayyyyy behind us. (I thought it would be easy to find my name in the paper if it was at the bottom.)

Maybe I'll train next year.

9U Baseball tryouts today. Gotta go.

I wonder if A-Rod slept in his hat?

Hat Update

Stupid is wearing the hat at the Knicks game at MSG.

Knicks are getting mauled by LeBron and Co.

Film at 11.

Nice Hat (Not)

Is it over?

Like I said, Christmas in Beirut. Yankees win again (good thing they spent all that dough).

Anyway, check out Deadspin for another guys opinion. I don't drop F-bombs so I digress...

So as the floats drift by, can you explain why the purple-lipped A-Rod always looks like an A-Hole? And is he dating Jay-Z now?

And don't the Yankees wear Midnight Blue? I guess the black gangsta look is in.

Go away.

On the 6th Game

A prediction:

Phillies 5
Yankees 4

We're going to game 7!

I have no glee in either team winning. It's like Christmas in Beirut. Empty.

At least once this is over I can begin pontificating about free agency and the sun rising over Citifield once again. Ahhh, dreams.

Busy Busy

Today is busy. Besides the whole church in the AM thing.

Before I go on, rained a little last night, but the Halloween festivities in the local area went on as planned. My legs felt like a couple of water-logged stumps by the end of the evening. Couldn't make it past the 4th in the rain delayed game three. Yankees go up 2-1. A-Rod plunked twice.

Baseball tryouts today for our 12U and 11U programs from noon to 4PM. Gotta go get the fields ready in a few. Then it's travel hoops practice from 4:30-6PM. So I gotta mosey.

Check me out later, maybe I'll give a recap. Maybe not.
